At Amar Jyoti School, we believe in the power of sports to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and inclusivity. That’s why we place a strong emphasis on inclusive sports activities, where students with and without disabilities come together to participate and compete.
Our school actively encourages all students to take part in various interschool events and competitions, regardless of their abilities. To ensure that students with disabilities can participate meaningfully, we have made adaptations in sports such as badminton, basketball, table tennis, and cricket.
In badminton, we use adaptable nets and provide badminton rackets and shuttlecocks with velcro for easier handling. For basketball, we have special wheelchairs for wheelchair basketball and adaptable shooting poles. In table tennis, we provide adaptable wheelchairs and make adaptations to the rackets. In cricket, we use a sound ball and tactile bats to make the game more accessible to students with disabilities.
Through these inclusive sports activities, we aim to promote equity and inclusion in all aspects of school life, while also helping our students develop important life skills through sports.
