Classes at Amar Jyoti- Delhi and Gwalior during COVID 19

Amar Jyoti School has been striving to promote inclusive education for almost four decades. With positive results and greater awareness about the benefits of inclusion, we have been able to grow strength to strength. Our gracious supporters like you have made it possible for which we shall always remain grateful.

Due to onset of Covid-19, the whole academic year has been badly affected. Though, it is difficult to conduct routine activities, we have been providing online teaching services for the whole academic year and around 300 students were also provided the tablets with the support of Ford Foundation for smooth functioning of online classes for this academic year which has also given students and teachers the opportunities to know the technology better than before. However, the annual examinations in March 2020 could not be conducted and as per instructions of the Directorate of Education every child from nursery to class VIII was promoted to the next class.

Tech-Mahindra Foundation organised an Inter-School Inclusive Sports

This year Amar Jyoti had the good fortune of receiving financial assistance from Tech-Mahindra Foundation to organise an Inter-School Inclusive Sports Meet. This event was held at Thyagraj stadium, Delhi on 25th January, 2019. Twenty four schools across Delhi-NCR participated and each school sent an inclusive group of twenty children.

Needless to say that such event creates awareness about the needs and benefits of inclusion which is the ultimate winner.  The persons with disabilities are persons first and are entitled to all the rights that others enjoy. It is our duty to make a difference in their lives.

It was heart warming to witness the beautiful partnership amongst children with and without disabilities which   made the event   successful and spectacular.
